Cutting-edge environment reflects London 2012 Olympics experience.






EDGE has worked extensively with HSBC for over six years on both the Group's retail and workplace requirements. We work collaboratively with HSBC Group Network Development & Design and Corporate Real Estate divisions, providing global retail and workplace strategy, taking projects from concept to practical completion and documenting best practice across Global Standard Guidelines. Projects to date have included a new Global Retail Store in Holborn; the design and roll out of the premium branch concept (including Mexico and France, as well as new concepts for the USA); remote ATM design and roll out and workplace design.

For the new Stratford site in the UK the brief was to create a one-off ‘beacon store’ in the new-build Westfield Stratford shopping centre, which would express a premium brand feel and be a unique statement for the brand in response to the London 2012 Olympics (being held immediately adjacent to the centre).

What’s the Big Idea?

‘Window on the world’: connecting the local with the global. EDGE created a premium environment for HSBC via a state-of-the-art store with a major investment in technology to ensure a truly cutting-edge ‘beacon’ environment, which would be a global brand halo during the Olympics. The requisite premium feel was created by evolving existing brand language and creating a stronger sense of theatre.
