A first ever pop-up store for the Post Office.

Client:

The Post Office

Location:

Camden, North London

Brief:

To turn around an incredibly quick project (8 days from brief to installation) to create the first ever pop-up shop for the Post Office to hit the Xmas postal market and bring postal services directly to the client in a predominantly retail area, showing a willingness to edit formats in response to seasonal and local needs.

What’s the Big Idea?

‘We’ve got Christmas wrapped up’ – taking the Post Office to the people. A one-off pop-up store (‘Post Shop’) in Camden Market, to open in the run-up to Christmas. The concept was to trial an outlet which was purely a post and retail offer, where customers could not only post, but also wrap and pack their newly-purchased presents in a lively urban environment. Fun elements, including a ‘make a wish’ wall, took the Post Office into new territory in terms of tone of voice.

Return on Investment:

An imaginative and cost-effective way to trial a concept with roll out potential and change customer perceptions by making an institutional giant into a contemporary and fleet-footed retailer.

‘They’re not narrowly-focused, but they think of the bigger and wider impacts that we either hadn’t thought of or were just beginning to think of.’
Katherine Mearman, Senior Brand & Format Manager, Post Office.
