OVERVIEW

Following the completion of a Cat B/C fitout of workspaces across several sites owned by Great Portland Estates (GPE), there was a requirement to enhance the styling of the spaces to show ‘signs of life’ that brought the schemes to life for prospective tenants.

We were tasked with choosing elements for each site that were to be retained as part of the space by the tenant, so suitability and quality of products needed to be specified to ensure longevity.

For each space, the styling needed to reflect the locale and the expected target tenant typologies.

Elements selected, dependant on the site were, desk lamps and caddies including stationary, art work, soft furnishings and kitchenware, including crockery, glassware and cutlery.

Each site’s specifications were adjusted according to each location and the gaps identified by the client.

It is important to start with the end user experience. Physical space is for creating a brand centre of excellence – a place where people can absorb the company culture and behaviour. Thinking from a leisure and hospitality perspective are invaluable now in approaching workplace design.
