OVERVIEW

Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd. (M.O.L.), a Japanese transport company head-quartered in Tokyo, appointed Tonik Edge to design its new UK headquarters.

Founded in 1884, the move to the new offices, came during the company’s 130th year in operation. The brief was to design an environment, future proofed to allow flexibility and company evolution, which would encourage interaction between staff whilst providing a platform which reflected the company’s heritage, showcasing its assets and history within a contemporary setting.

The main features of the space include an exquisitely designed time-line of the history of M.O.L.’s fleets and beautifully crafted bespoke cases for their collection of large scale models.

The main meeting rooms include pop out info graphics of a selection of their vessels,  with manifestations referencing  navigational charts.

During the Pandemic, we supported one of our existing clients M.O.L. undertake an in-depth analysis of how their staff were operating, pre-Covid; to how they would like to operate, transitional to longer term. We filtered the past and present into a masterplan of space & wellbeing, day 1, 2, 3 and beyond.
